About The Conservation Volunteers

The Conservation Volunteers’ Green Gyms are fun and free outdoor volunteering sessions offered across the UK to transform local green spaces. In Hampshire, these are based out of two sites – Nursling, nr Southampton and Mannington, nr Three Legged Cross.

The benefits of Green Gym® sessions for you, your community and nature are:

  • Getting outdoors – being surrounded by greenery has been shown to improve overall mental health and reduce heart rates.
  • Getting active – conservation work or gardening is a great low impact way to exercise your whole body.
  • Meeting local people – The Conservation Volunteers’ volunteers love meeting new people and enjoy coming together to form a team!
  • Learning new skills – from tool use and plant ID to group leadership, there is something for everyone.
  • Making a difference – all sessions improve a local green space for people and wildlife.
