About PEDALL – New Forest Inclusive Cycling
PEDALL supports people to improve their health, wellbeing, and independence through accessible cycling and outdoor activity. We provide inclusive cycling opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, including those living with long-term health conditions, disabilities, or social isolation. Using a wide range of regular and specialist cycles, participants can enjoy safe, supported rides in the New Forest National Park, helping build confidence, increase physical activity, and connect with others.
PEDALL recognises the powerful benefits that spending time outdoors and engaging with nature can have on both physical and mental wellbeing. Our sessions help reduce social isolation, improve mood, build resilience, and foster meaningful social connections. Through a person-centred approach, we support individuals to overcome barriers to being active and discover enjoyable ways to improve their health. PEDALL works closely with healthcare professionals, social prescribers, and community partners to help people lead healthier, more connected lives.

What PEDALL – New Forest Inclusive Cycling participants can expect
Sessions offer opportunities to be active outdoors, enjoy the beautiful New Forest National Park, meet new people and build confidence in a safe and inclusive setting. Whether someone is returning to cycling, trying it for the first time, or looking to improve their health and wellbeing, PEDALL focuses on creating a positive and enjoyable experience that helps people feel more connected, independent and empowered.
People attending PEDALL can expect a friendly, welcoming, and supportive environment where they can enjoy cycling at their own pace. Sessions are led by trained staff and volunteers who provide support and guidance throughout. Participants can access a range of specialist cycles to find one that best suits their needs and abilities. Many of our cycles are power assisted.
Where sessions take place
- PEDALL – New Forest Inclusive Cycling has two bases – one in Burley and another in Ashurst:

- The Burley site can only be access via private transport. Parking is available
- The Ashurst site can be accessed via public transport with train and buss services available

- Tuesday to Saturday.
Who can participate?
- PEDALL is designed for anyone who faces barriers to cycling or accessing outdoor physical activity. We welcome people of all ages and abilities, including those living with long-term health conditions, disabilities, mobility or balance challenges, learning disabilities, autism, dementia, acquired brain injury, or social isolation. We also support carers, family members and support workers to take part alongside riders where appropriate. Our inclusive sessions use a range of specialist cycles and are tailored to individual needs, enabling people to experience the benefits of cycling, nature and social connection in a safe, supportive environment. PEDALL works with individuals, families, community groups, schools, healthcare services and charities across the New Forest and surrounding areas.
